– By Bus: Several bus services operate along the Ring Road, with regular stops in Höfn. Check schedules in advance for availability.
– By Tour: Many guided tours include Höfn as a stop, often in combination with visits to nearby attractions such as Jökulsárlón and Vatnajökull.
The summer months offer long daylight hours, mild weather, and the chance to enjoy outdoor activities. This is the peak tourist season, with many festivals and events taking place.
Winter provides a magical atmosphere with snow-covered landscapes and the possibility of viewing the Northern Lights. However, daylight hours are shorter, and weather conditions can be challenging.
These shoulder seasons offer fewer crowds and can provide beautiful conditions for exploring, though weather can be more variable. We ran into a lot of rain storms in our most recent visit in September 2022.
