The Porte de Hal (Hallepoort) is a medieval gate that was part of the fortification of the Brussels city. While the walls are completely gone, the fort still stands. During your visit, you will see different artifacts of armory and rooms filled with weapons.
An amazing view can be enjoyed from the small windows at the top of the fort. You’re even allowed to go onto the roof. Everything has been kept as it was during its initial construction, except for a modern elevator to assist those who might have an issue navigating the multi-level spiral staircase to the top.
Some hidden passageways can be found by opening doors, which is encouraged and exploring.
