St. Johann Town Hall was constructed between 1897 and 1900 in Saarbrücken and is decorated with numerous sandstone statues. Check out the intricate detailing of the hall and enjoy the murals, wood carvings, and incredible stained-glass windows. If you want a great view of the city, climb up the bell tower to see out upon the square. This site plays host to over 1,000 weddings each year.
Take a few minutes to walk around the outside and check out the figures attached to the exterior of the building. My favorite was St. George and the dragon which seems to be clinging to the structure in a precarious way. Other sandstone figures represent the old craft occupations. You will find a miner, an ironworker, a farmer, a brewer, a merchant, and a tanner.
